Audrey Hope Harris, 79, passed away peacefully at home, Sunday, May 22, 2011. She was born in Winnepeg, Canada and moved to Merritt Island, Florida in 1962 with her husband of 59 years, whom she met while attending nursing school at Walla Walla University in the state of Washington. She spent most of her nursing career, in Florida, working with Dr. Adrian Jensen as his office nurse and surgical assistant.
Audrey had an abiding love for God and will be remembered for her love of people and God’s creatures. She spent many happy hours in her garden, tending her roses and other beautiful plants. She enjoyed sharing her bouquets of fragrant roses with the many people who touched her life. Her dry British humor and ever optimistic perspective endeared her to everyone she met.
She loved her cats, she loved the warm Florida sun, she loved reading, but most of all she loved her friends and family, and especially her grand children.
She is survived by her beloved husband, Steve, her daughter Debbie, her son Bill and her daughter-in-law Julie, along with four grand children, Chris, Jay, Suzanna and Jennifer as well as three great grand children Natalie, Riley and Dean.
A private memorial service will be held for family at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you send a donation in honor of Audrey Harris to either the Vitas Hospice Charitable fund or the American Cancer Society.
