BETTE B ALLIS
December 5, 1927 – October 24, 2010
Bette Bentley Allis Orem, Utah Bette Allis our beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother and friend has completed her task on earth and being made perfect by her Lord Jesus Christ has departed this life to join her Heavenly Father on October 24, 2010. Bette Nell Bentley was born on December 5, 1927 in Little Rock Arkansas. She was the daughter of James E. Bentley and Catherine Amelia La Moyne. She was raised in Little Rock and graduated from Little Rock High School in 1945. Her father was employed by the Arkansas Power and Light Company. Bette married John D. Allis on March 13, 1948 and was together with him for 55 years until his death in 2003. Bette accompanied John during his military career on his assignments throughout the United States, Germany and Panama. Bette is survived by a daughter, Catherine Downing, who is a professor at Utah Valley University, a son John Allis who is a principal engineer with Colorado Springs Utilities, four grandchildren, Emily Springer, Ben Allis, Daniel Allis and Gabriel Wagner, and two great grandchildren, Aiden Springer and Landen Springer. We will miss her greatly. Her example of faithfulness to her family and to her Lord will remain with us always. Calling hours are 9-10am Monday November 1, 2010 followed by Services beginning at 10am at Wylie-Baxley Merritt Island Funeral Home. Interment will take place at Florida National Cemetery. Although I never had the privilege of meeting Bette I want to express my sympathy to Catherine Downing and her family at this great loss. Our thoughts and prayers surround you with love and support now and in the coming weeks.
