Born Betty Joyce Woods near Carnesville, GA. She experienced a rough childhood and spent many years in the Florida Baptist Children’s Home and various foster homes before being adopted by James and Gladys Morgan at the age of 14. Although they never got to see each other in person, she recently reconnected with one of her biological sisters and they enjoyed several phone conversations.
She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She held many jobs in her lifetime, she was a consultant with both Tupperware and Avon on several occasions, co-owned a consignment craft store, served at the Columbia Elementary cafeteria, worked at an auto dealership, and retired as a life insurance agent. Her co-workers and customers loved her and appreciated her dedication to serving them with her whole heart.
While all her family is heartbroken over her departure, we are comforted knowing that she is no longer suffering the pain that plagued her for years and she is now at peace in the arms of her Savior.
A private, family-only Celebration of Life will be held on Thursday, April 8th at the home of Tom & Deborah Denton. In lieu of flowers the family requests that gifts be made to St. Francis Reflections Life Stage Care (the hospice that cared for Betty). They can be made online at reflectionslsc.org or by calling 321-360-3456.
