Carmela Murico

Carmela Theresa Murico passed away peacefully on January 22, 2014 in Rockledge. Carmela “Mil” was born on July 16, 1924 in Corona, New York and pursued her love of music and teaching. She was a concert pianist at a young age, playing at Carnegie Music Hall in New York and received numerous awards over the years. After receiving her Master’s Degree at Queens College in New York, she taught elementary education for over 30 years both in New York and Connecticut. Over the years she had countless piano students as well. She loved her family deeply and enjoyed knitting, sewing, reading and traveling.

She is predeceased by her father and mother, Luigi and Carmela Coronato. She is survived by her husband of 50 years, Pasquale (Pat) Murico, her 3 children, Gina W. Meinders (Charlotte, NC), Patrick L. Murico (Lewiston, ME) and Robert A. Murico (Rockledge, FL) and her 5 grandchildren, Donny, Carly, Patrick, Christopher and Elizabeth.

Per her wishes, a private, family viewing will be held on Saturday, January 25 with cremation arrangements being handled by Wylie-Baxley Funeral Home, Merritt Island, FL.
