Claudette M LaPointe

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Claudette Mary (Levesque) LaPointe, 76, of Merritt Island Florida, on Saturday, August 15 2015, surrounded by her loving family. Claudette just celebrated her 61ST wedding anniversary to the love of her life Joseph Lewis LaPointe. Claudette was born in Lewiston, Maine, the daughter of the late Rachael Begin Levesque born in Canada, and the late Ernest Levesque. Claudette was one of three siblings; she is survived by her brother Claude Levesque and Robert Bolduc. Claudette was raised in Waterford, Connecticut until she was 16 at which time she moved back to Lewiston where she met her loving husband Joseph Lewis LaPointe. Claudette and her family settled in Connecticut where she raised four children. She is survived by her children; Joseph LaPointe Jr. and his wife Nini, Mark LaPointe and his wife Beth, and her daughter and best friend, Tanya LaPointe and her late daughter, Amanda. She also leaves 10 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Claudette loved traveling, boating, fishing, and gambling with her grandchildren in a good game of Skat. She also enjoyed searching for garage sales, where she and her daughter Tanya enjoyed getting a good deal. She also loved her pets Pooh and Toby. Claudette retired from Stanadyne where she was one of the first women to become a lead-woman in the Stanadyne manufacturing facility.

Services will be held on Friday, August 21st at 11:00 A.M. at Wylie-Baxley Funeral Home located on 1360 N. Courtenay Pkwy in Merritt Island, FL. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital (stjude.org).
