It is with great sadness that the family of Connie Marie Blankfield announces her passing after a brief illness on Thursday, August 29 at Stratford Court of Boca Pointe where she recently moved to be closer to family. Born Concettina Marie Vitale to parents Olga and Diego Vitale on November 8, 1921, Connie was the last surviving sibling of four brothers and three sisters who adored her. She grew up in Philadelphia and graduated Overbrook High School in 1938. She later met the love of her life, Martin S. Blankfield and they were married October 26, 1947. They moved to Orlando, Florida in 1961 and to Merritt Island, Florida in 1964 where they remained and lived happily together. Deeply in love, devoted to each other and best friends they were married for 70 wonderful years. They were inspirations for their family and friends. Especially Connie whose love of life, sparkling blue eyes and gorgeous smile warmed our hearts. In addition to being a loving mother and wonderful homemaker, Connie volunteered with Cripple Children Aid society and held part time jobs throughout her life. Connie and Marty raised five children, Michael and Craig who preceded her death and is survived by Bruce, Deborah and David. Her grandchildren include; Michael who preceded her death and surviving grandchildren Jackie, Brannon, Brooke, Gianna, Nicole and Betsy.
