Cynthia Jean Schell age 71, died peacefully in her home on February 6th, 2025 in Cape Canaveral, Florida. A native upstate New Yorker who shared her time between her home in the Adirondacks and Cape Canaveral with the love of her life Terrance her husband of nearly 50 years.
Cynthia touched many lives with her vast knowledge in an array of subjects. While attending Utica College she further developed her lifelong passion for learning. Her creative mind and inquisitive nature fueled everything she did.
From owning a successful florist shop in Oswego, NY to being a national sales leader for Avon as well as the National Federation of Independent Business (NFIB). In the past decade her love of plants and flowers led her to study of herbalism. Traveling to different countries to learn as much as she could under the tutelage of world renowned herbalists she focused on the gifts God gave us in nature for natural healing. She took up teaching classes to many students over the years who were inspired by her nature walks and absolute passion for the subject.
Ever the creative one she had many hobbies over the years including crafting, sewing and her latest great interest painting. She thoroughly enjoyed painting and talking all about it. Besides this she had over a 1000 day streak on Duolingo in both Esperanto and Spanish. Even while hospitalized she made sure she didn’t lose her streak.
But, her greatest love on this earth was her family. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother, daughter and sister.
She leaves behind her loving husband and best friend Terrance, her daughter Jessica and son in law Christopher Pawelek, Grandchildren; Kristof, Eva and Juliette. Her son A.J. (Catrina Roberson) and grandchildren Alex and Alexa. Her son Carlos Shih-Garcia (Ashley Blake) and grandchildren Ben and Alexandria. She will be greatly missed for the incredible person she was and her infectious laugh and fierce love will remain with everyone who knew and loved her.
Cynthia would want everyone who reads this obituary to seek Jesus (John 3:16), to know that she is in heaven with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, to rejoice in the knowledge that Jesus came to reconcile us with God and to free us from the fear of death and dying and to give us the assurance of eternal life with Him; and to do that “you must be born again.” John 3:7
