Born in Boynton Beach, Florida, Daphne left the state to pursue a career in hospitality, which took her to New Orleans, Houston, and San Francisco. She especially cherished her years working in casino cage banking in New Orleans’ French Quarter, where she and her husband, Tom Holcombe, enjoyed participating in many colorful Mardi Gras celebrations.
In the early 2000s, Daphne served as a regional coordinator for Texas EquuSearch Search & Recovery, dedicating her time and compassion to the search for missing persons and the support of their families. Through this work, she exemplified courage, selflessness, and an unwavering commitment to bringing hope to families facing uncertainty and heartache. Her dedication reflected her deep concern for others and left a meaningful legacy of service.
Daphne was predeceased by her husband, Tom Holcombe; her mother, Jean Frisino; her father, Wayne Drew, and stepmother, Carol Drew; her brother, Daryl Drew; and her nephews, Daemon W. Drew and Dillon Drew.
She is survived by her brothers, Dartland Drew, Robert Drew, and Ron Willett; her stepbrother, Scott Bailey; her sisters, Darcel Drew and Melody Pifer; and her nephews, Daemon D. Drew and Tyler Drew. She will also be remembered by many cousins, friends, fellow volunteers, and her beloved cats.
