

Debra Blum - Merritt Island - Debbie passed away on Sunday, April 19, 2010. She was born on March 24, 1955 in Las Cruces, New Mexico. She relocated to Brevard County from Las Cruces in 1964 when she was nine years old. She graduated from Cocoa High School in 1973. Her parents and siblings were active in the space program at KSC from the Apollo missions to the Space Shuttle. She retired in 2001 from Yang. Since her retirement she has been an active member in the community with various organizations such as the Eagles and Elk lodges with countless hours of charity work. She is preceded in death by her husband, Joel Blum; siblings, Michelle and Sherry Mason; and her parents, Wendell and Patricia Mason. Debbie will always be remembered as a loving and gracious mother and grandmother. Her caring, unselfish nature touched the lives of everyone she encountered. She always carried a smile and sparkling manner that would light up any situation. The untimely loss to breast cancer has, and will affect all of her countless friends, and family who knew and loved her so much. She is survived by sons, Bryan and Philip Harrelson; grandchildren, Caleb, Blakely, Bryer, Eleanor, and Madelyn Harrelson. A memorial service will be held Saturday, April 24th at 2 p.m., at Wylie-Baxley Funeral Home. Fol lowing the service, there will be a celebration of life at the Fraternal Order of Eagles, 1050 N.
