Emma Lou Meadows, 84, passed away on Tuesday, August 27, 2013, and is in her heavenly home with Jesus her Lord and Savior. She was a part of the Christian Fellowship of the First Baptist Church of Cocoa for 59 years.
Emma Lou was born on August 21, 1929, at home in Delray Beach, FL, the daughter of Lonnie W. Cook and Emma Cook. After graduating from Delray High School in 1947, Emma Lou attended Florida State University and graduated in 1951. She briefly taught school in the public schools in Gainesville, FL and Patrick Air Force Base. Emma Lou and her husband, Dan, were married on July 27, 1951, and moved to Cocoa in 1953. They were the proud mom and dad to five loving children.
Emma Lou was preceded in death by her son, Daniel W. Meadows and her brother, Lonnie W. Cook, Jr.
Emma Lou is survived by her loving husband of 62 years, Daniel N. Meadows; four children, Diane (Paul) Stewart, Steve Meadows, Mark Meadows and Marianne (Barry) Inman; three grandchildren, Jordan Stewart, John Stewart and Jared Inman; and great-granddaughter, Kristalyne Stewart.
A memorial service will be held at the First Baptist Church of Cocoa, 750 Brevard Avenue, on Saturday, August 31, 2013, with visitation at 11 am followed by a 12 pm memorial service.
In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to the First Baptist Church of Cocoa, 750 Brevard Avenue, Cocoa, FL 32922 and Wuesthoff Hospice House, 661 Eyster Boulevard, Rockledge, FL 32955.
