After marriage, they lived in Matewan, WV, where Esther taught piano and played for singers at the Christian radio station where Leonard was employed. In 1959, the family moved to Merritt Island, where Esther served as church organist/pianist for First Baptist Church of Merritt Island from 1961 to 1981. She continued to be actively involved in the handbell program and Living Christmas Tree performances for many years. She served as organist for Temple Israel for 20 years, and later as organist for First Baptist Church of Cocoa.
Esther had a deep sense of commitment to the Lord, and endeavored to live her life according to scripture.
