Floyd “Bill” Points was born and raised in Higginsville, MO. He became a farm hand at the age of 14. Later, he was drafted into the Army where he served in the US & Germany for 2 years. He loved his country and was proud of his military service. On February 23, 1973, he married the love of his life who he would come to build a family with. He then retired after 27 years of working for General Motors in Kansas City. In retirement he loved traveling and camping in his RV. Then, in 2005 he moved to Florida, but at heart he will always be a Missouri farm-boy. He passed from this life surrounded by love on Thursday, July 20, 2023.
Bill loved restoring antique cars, camping in his RV, traveling, NASCAR, playing solitaire, talking to the animals, eating Tootsie Rolls, “Beep Beep” and spending time with family and friends.
“Bill” means “determined guardian” and that’s exactly who he has always been. He was funny, strong, fiercely loved his family and always gave genuine hugs and kisses. He never met a stranger. He spent his life here on Earth building a family and if you’re a part of it, you know it! It was never based on blood or even marriage; just a choice to be a part of it. If you are lucky enough to truly know him, you are blessed beyond measure and he is a man you will never forget!
Bill is preceded in death by his father and mother, Floyd and Madge Points and his great-grandchild Mackinley. He is survived by his wife Jean Points, his children, Dwayne Points (Kathy), Tina Drummond (Paul Beach); his grandchildren Reagan (Ian), Erika (Gary), Sterling (Brian), Colton, Weston and Nathan; his great-grandchildren; Zeke, Morgan, Tylah, Serenity, and Matthew; his Sisters-in-law Judy Warren and Janet Kliethermes (Mike); and many other family and friends.
