Francis "Frank" Joseph Ravenscroft, Jr.

Frank was born on June 10, 1951 in Chelsea, MA to Francis Joseph Ravenscroft and Catherine Lucille Ravenscroft. He lived his childhood in Louisville, KY until moving to Titusville, FL where he spent the majority of his adult life.

Frank built a life rooted in service, humor, and devotion to his family. He attended the police academy at Eastern Kentucky University and graduated in 1984. After graduating from the academy, he worked as a police officer in Louisville, KY. In 1987 he moved to Florida and joined the Brevard County Sheriff’s Department where he devoted his career to serving the people of his community for 23 years working as a deputy and criminal investigator. He solved numerous crimes while working for the Sherriff's Department where his investigations and arrests were described as top notch and his hard work and motivation often inspired others to work hard. Frank was an amazing cop who was well respected and always making someone laugh. He was known among his colleagues as a "legend." He retired in June 2011 but continued to work for the Brevard County Sheriff’s Department after retiring by volunteering his time to work cases in the fraud department. Frank enjoyed spending time with his family and his cat Andy.

Frank is survived by his wife of 47 years, Dee; two daughters Samantha and Kimberly; three grandchildren Madison, Jacob, and Connor; a sister, Gail Thompson of Louisville, KY; and a nephew Stephen Ravenscroft (Shannon) of Louisville, KY. He was preceded in death by his mother Catherine Lucille Ravenscroft and his father Francis Joseph Ravenscroft.

Funeral Services will be held at Wylie Baxley Funeral Home located at 1360 North Courtenay Pkwy., Merritt Island, FL. Viewing and visitation services will be held Monday, February 9, 2026 from 4-7 pm. The funeral will be held Tuesday, February 10, 2026 at 11 am.

Burial will be Thursday, February 12, 2026 at Evergreen Funeral Home and Cemetery located at 4623 Preston Hwy, Louisville, KY. Viewing and visitation services will be from 12-2 pm with burial to immediately follow.
