

Frederick Carl Habegger, 76, of Cocoa, passed away on Monday, May 7, 2012, at Cape Canaveral Hospital, after a long battle with liver and heart disease. He moved to Florida in 1953, where he met the love of his life at a bible study at First Baptist Church of Cocoa, Bettye Lee Kimrey.
Fred received his Bachelor of Arts degree from Stetson University and his Masters of Arts in Teaching from Rollins College. He taught and touched the lives of many in Brevard County for 31 years. Fred was a long time member and deacon of the First Baptist Church of Cocoa.
Fred is survived by his wife of 54 years, Bettye Kimrey Habegger; daughters, Kimrey H. (John) Owens, Beth H. (Lee) Stewart and Susan H. (Carlos) Garcia. Fred is also survived by 6 grandchildren, Johnny and Jeffrey Owens, Chad and Carlyn Stewart, Carlos and Michael Garcia; and brother, Dr. Jim (Mary) Habegger.
Family will receive friends on Thursday, May 17, 2012, from 6 - 8 PM, at Wylie-Baxley Funeral Home, Merritt Island, FL. A Celebration of Fred's life will be held Saturday, May 19, 2012, at 2:00 p.m., at the First Baptist Church of Cocoa.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Fred's memory to the First Baptist Church of Cocoa.
