OBITUARY

Gary "Red" Redfern

September 2, 1945July 19, 2020

Gary W. Redfern passed away peacefully in his home at Merritt Island on Saturday July 19, 2020 at the age of 74. Gary will be forever loved and missed by his wife Pamela of 34yrs, as well as his 9 children, Bill Redfern (Devona), Mitchell Phillips Redfern, Kimberly Redfern, Gary K. Redfern, Cindy Setliff Redfern (Nathan), Tamela Cowell, Nicole Deview, Phillis Tyler (James), and Virginia Layne. Gary was blessed with 14 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. Gary was also survived by two siblings Roger Redfern (Alaska) and Judy Redfern Holmes (Georgia).

Gary served in total 17yrs in the US Armed forces including the Army, Air Force and National Guard. He went on to earn a degree in Business Accounting and retired as an Industrial Fireproof Contractor.

Family and friends will be received at Wylie-Baxley Funeral Home (1360 N. Courtenay Pkwy, Merritt Island, FL 32953) on Tuesday, July 28, 2020 from 10:30 – 11:15 (family) 11:15 to 12:15pm (public). A Celebration of Life Service will take place at 12:15 - 1:15pm with Burial to follow at the Cape Canaveral National Cemetery (5525 US1, Mims, FL 32754)

I had the pleasure of first meeting Gary on south merritt island when the family move from merritt ridge . My sister married his brother Rodger. Gary was a kind good person and a great brother and son to all of his family. Sorry for your loss. Lewis Patterson
