Gloria V Purcell

Gloria V. Purcell of Cape Canaveral, age 83, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, September 11, 2018 at Cape Canaveral Hospital. She was born February 10, 1935 in Kokomo, Indiana to the late Ray Van Devender and Imogene Gillig. Gloria lived in Warren, Ohio where she and her husband owned and operated Purcell’s Home Decorating. Moving to Merritt Island, FL in 1980 she pursued Real Estate and became the Broker of Parkway Realty until she retired. Gloria was a vibrant person who loved to talk and visit with anyone she met. She enjoyed life and lived it to the fullest. She dearly loved and was loved by her family. She will be deeply missed. Gloria leaves her loving companion, Robert (Bob) Wright; a daughter, Pam (Harold) Gray; her two sons, Van Purcell and Eric Purcell; her beloved grandchildren, Aaron Purcell, Christian Purcell, Cori (Rick) Riggs, Chad (Shannon) Campbell, and Cindi (Curtis) Doxtater; six great grandchildren; brothers, Tim (Doreen) Van Devender and Jay Van Devender; sister-in-law Gail Van Devender; aunt, Virginia Barker; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband Ron Purcell, brother Max Van Devender, and sister-in-law Diane Van Devender. Her life will be celebrated with a Memorial Service to be held Saturday, September 22, 2018 at 1:00 at Wylie Baxley Funeral Home (1360 N. Courtenay Pkwy, Merritt Island, FL 32953) with a lunch reception following at the Radisson (8701 Astronaut Blvd, Cape Canaveral (Jamaica Room) In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Shriners Hospital for Children (2900 Rocky Point Drive, Tampa, FL 33607)
