Glyn D. Bass, of Merritt Island, Florida passed away peacefully, with his family by his side, August 13, 2022 at the age of 77. He was preceded in death by his parents, Noah and Nita Bass, of Palmetto, Florida.
He is survived by his loving wife of 30 years, Terri Bass, and his sons of which he was so proud, Jay Bass and Jeff Bass. He held a special place in his heart for his siblings, William Bass, Leon Bass and Linda Laugen (Ron) as well as all his nieces & nephews enjoying many memorable visits together over the years. Glyn would hope that his entire family, from close to extended, knows how much they meant to him.
A man that enjoyed helping others whether he knew you or not, sincere in his efforts, lived his life honestly and with integrity. He was modest, kind, and compassionate. Glyn was a loving husband, proud and mentoring father, and a lifelong friend to many.
Glyn was a Navy veteran, proud to serve his country, proceeding on to college at Embry-Riddle University and the University of South Florida to fulfill his degree as an Aeronautical Engineer.
He had an extensive career with various companies at the Kennedy Space Center during the early days of the Space Shuttle & Cape Canaveral Air Force Station where he found his niche with The Aerospace Corporation, spending 26+ years providing Payload Support to the Titan, Delta, & Atlas rocket launches.
Glyn met his biggest challenge in life when he was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s. He & his wife, Terri, met every day with a positive attitude towards making each day the best it could be. The owner and staff at Tuscany Villa ALF, Rockledge, FL provided above & beyond additional care & attention during Glyn’s last two years with us. Their support was incredibly appreciated.
Services are planned for September 3 with arrangements being coordinated through Wylie-Baxley Funeral Home, Merritt Island, Florida. Visitation 2-4pm; Service 4-5pm.
