

Mr. Chart was preceded in death by his parents, Dr. Stanley Gustav Chart and Blanche B. Chart of St. Petersburg Beach, Florida.
He is survived by his wife, Jeanetta Mullins Chart of Merritt Island, Florida (daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Clarence Mullins formerly of Holden, West Virginia), one son, Michael George Chart (wife Lori), grandsons Brock Andrew Chart and Austin Michael Chart of Salina, Kansas and sister Gerladline Nancy Strum of St. Petersburg, Florida.
Harold attended and graduated from Admiral Farragut Naval Academy, Toms River, New Jersey. He also served his country in the United States Navy Reserve. Harold attended the University of Florida and University of Louisville, He was employed by the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers and retired in June 1996. During his employment with the Corps, he and his family traveled extensively in the United States, Europe and the Middle East.
Harold was a member of the First United Methodist Church, Manhattan, Kansas. His hobbies included scuba diving, snow skiing, sailing and spending time with friends, especially the Java coffee group in Manhattan, Kansas, and the Kaw Valley Muzzle loaders Club.
A celebration of Harold's life will be held on 4 September 2010 at 11:00 at the James Funeral Home, Logan, West Virginia with Rev. Theodore Ballard form Cocoa Beach, Florida officiating. Burial with full military honors will follow at Forrest Lawn Cemetery at Pecks Mill, West Virginia.
