

Helen J. Majercik, 98, of Rockledge passed away peacefully and surrounded by family in the early hours of Monday, November 11, 2013. Helen was born on August 15, 1915 to Dr. Isaac Johnston and Mary Johnston in Binghamton, NY; and has since resided in Rockledge for over 50 years.
A graduate of Smith College, she worked as a radiologist and moved to Florida in the 50’s. She was a founding member of the Junior League of Central & North Brevard, and a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution and the Colonial Dames of the 17th Century. Always an avid traveler, she had seen the US driving from coast to coast, rode aboard the RMS Queen Mary, toured Europe prior to WWII, flew to Argentina and Cuba before their revolution, and more recently traveled to Alaska with family.
Helen was preceded in death by her husband James Majercik and daughter Dr. Mary Majercik, and is survived by her Grandsons Ryan and Andrew Maurer. Visitation will be held at 1:00 PM Friday, November 15, at the Brevard Memorial Funeral Home in Cocoa, with a memorial service to be held the following day at the Rockledge Presbyterian Church at 11AM.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center.
