James P. Ferriero

April 20, 1949October 22, 2018

James “Jim” Paul Ferriero, age 69, passed away peacefully at his home in Cape Canaveral, FL. He was born April 20, 1949 in Beverly, MA to Patricia (Connolly) Ferriero and Louis Ferriero. He was survived by his daughter Christine (Ferriero) Cutter, and two beautiful granddaughters Meghan and Caroline Cutter who were always foremost in his heart. Jim was the oldest of ten children, survived by 5 brothers, Bruce Ferriero, Steve (Sue) Ferriero, Louie (Claire) Ferriero, Joey (Marce) Ferriero and Johnny Ferriero and 4 sisters, Janie (Bob) Huber, Karen Fitzgerald, Patti (Freddy) Distasio, Terri Eldridge and many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his mom and dad, Lou and Pat Ferriero. Jimmy was born and lived in Massachusetts until 1995 when he relocated to Merritt Island, Florida to be the IT person for FAB-TECH Industries. He’s always been ‘the go to person’ for family and friends computer needs. Tinkering with those computers was his thing. When he moved to Florida he really enjoyed boating and being on the water when he wasn’t working. In later years, after retirement, he worked for 888 Taxi Company. He enjoyed his coworkers and boy did everybody love listening to his passenger stories! They were endlessly entertaining. Jim was a great cook. He was always trying out new recipes, was excited to share his creations with his friends and family. He did a lot of catering in his younger days and made the best pasta fasuli, bar none! He loved his Italian food but when it came to St. Patrick’s Day, he was all about the Corned Beef and Cabbage Dinner. He was definitely proud of both his Irish and Italian heritage. Jim may have moved to Florida but he never forgot his New England sports teams. He was all about our NE Patriots and Boston Red Sox. Oh and let’s not forget how good his New England clam chowder was!! Over the years we could always count on him in times of need. If you asked Jim to help, he was there for you! Many friends and family will miss him dearly. There will be a casual Memorial for Jim so that his friends and family can get together, talk, reminisce and just laugh about the good times over the years that they have shared with Jim. The Memorial and buffet will be held at Alfredo’s Paradiso Kitchen, 1450 N. Courtenay Pkwy., Bay 17, Merritt Island, FL 32953 @ 6pm on Monday, November 5, 2018.

I came upon Jim's obituary quite by accident, not having seen him since our days at BHS. He was a good friend when we both attended St. John's in North Beverly and we continued our friendship through our schooling. I wish his family comfort. Jim was a fine man and a great and faithful friend.

I remember Jimmy helping with the Annual SUPERBOWL Banquet at the Union Club in Beverly. We had many good times a long time ago .

Haven’t seen Jim in many years. But, thinking of the times we spent together while he and all my cousins lived on Oakhurst Rd. bring back fond memories.
The camp in Hampstead, the boat on Island Pond, the fancy dune buggy he built and just the joy I got out of spending time with him. God love you, buddy.
