

peacefully at home after a long battle with Parkinson's.
Dr. Habegger, a Berne, IN, native, was the elder son of the late Dr.
Myron and Elizabeth (Largent) Habegger. A life-long learner, his
formal education included Culver Military Academy and Indiana
Univ., where he was a member ofTheta Chi fraternity.
He served 2 years in the Air Force at Wright-Patterson AFB in
Ohio before earning an MBA from Ohio State Univ. and working 3
years for Proctor and Gamble.
Never losing his passion of medicine, he followed in his father's
footsteps, earning his MD from McGill Univ. in Montreal before
joining his father in private practice in Rockledge in 1966 where he
became known as "Dr. Jim," a beloved family practitioner for 35
years.
Dr. Habegger was a long-time Boy Scout, car afficionado, British
comedies fan, jazz music devotee, avid photographer, and widely
read in current events, history and economics.
He is survived by his wife Mary (Westby) Habegger, daughter Etta
Habegger (Charlotte Eubanks) and granddaugher, Maren Eubanks.
He was predeceased by his brother Frederick and former wife Jane
(Copeland) Habegger.
A celebration of his life will be held at 1 pm, Dec. 16, at Wylie-
Baxlie Chapel on N. Courtney, Merritt Island. Please send
