UF Shands Hospital in Gainesville, Florida.
Jimmy graduated from Merritt Island High in 2005 and went on to get his Associates Degree at Brevard Community College. He began classes at UCF but took the opportunity to become a successful entrepreneur with the opening of Island Watercraft Boat Rentals. He had a great run with his business but his health had other plans for him. He found a new passion in building custom fishing rods that will now be passed onto his protégé Jackson. Jimmy was an avid fisherman with a love for the ocean. Any chance he had to be on the river or out to sea with a fishing rod in his hand, he was there. He was a prolific writer on many fishing forums that at times got him in some heated debates, but he loved the discussions that ensued. Words can’t express his love and respect for the fishing community/family that was such a huge part of his life. Know he truly loved each and every one of you.
Jimmy will always be in the hearts of his family and friends. We are at peace knowing he lived his life to its fullest and enjoyed the times he spent with all of us.
He will be missed by his Dad (Jim), Mom (Sue), Sister (Julie), Grandmother (Emily), and Girlfriend (Jennifer) along with our family pups (Bailey, Bella, Bruce and Sissy).
He will be missed by his many Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, Nieces and Nephews who he absolutely adored. His lifelong friends who were there for him thru sickness and health will always be by his side. There was no greater community to grow up in than here on Merritt Island. We have truly been blessed with the outpouring of love and support from our community. We are grateful to have all of you in our lives.
As all of you know, Jimmy had been on the transplant list thru UF Shands Hospital in Gainesville for a new heart and liver due to his congenital heart disease. He was on a mission for everyone to become aware of the importance of Organ Donation. Although it is not a comfortable subject, please know that there are many children and adults that could have a second chance at life thru the gift of donation. Our love and gratitude goes out to the UF Shands Hospital Heart Transplant Teams, Liver Transplant Team, Support Teams, along with the Electrophysiology Team plus the entire staff at UF Health Heart and Vascular Hospital. (Go 6th Floor), we love all of you:).
Jimmy’s wishes were that everyone live each and every day to it’s fullest.
