

Age 47, of Cocoa, Florida, passed away unexpectedly on January 21, 2025. Jason was born in Tokyo, Japan, and made his way to Brevard County, Florida in 1990, where he built a life full of love, friendship, and memorable moments.
He leaves behind his loving father, Terry Lee McIlrath, and his mother, Patricia Laverne McIlrath. He is also survived by his two sisters, Jennifer Laverne and April Lynn, as well as his cherished grandmother, Dorothy Laverne. Jason was a proud father to his three sons: Jason Lee McIlrath Jr., Eric McIlrath, and Myles McIlrath, who will carry forward his legacy of strength and love. In addition, Jason was blessed with a close and enduring friendship with John Watson, who stood by his side through thick and thin.
As an uncle to four wonderful nieces and nephews and a great-uncle to one, Jason's warmth and guidance touched the lives of many young hearts. His love for his family and friends was truly unmatched, and he will be remembered for his incredible kindness and unwavering support.
Jason was a man of many qualities: loving, kind, considerate, helpful, and deeply determined. His personality radiated warmth, and he always put others first, prioritizing his family above all else. Jason’s passions included bowling and softball, two activities that brought him immense joy. Whether it was the competitive spirit of a bowling match or the camaraderie found in a softball game, Jason loved the connection that both brought him with friends and loved ones.
Jason’s spirit was generous and his heart big, and he made an impact in the lives of everyone he met. He will be deeply missed but never forgotten.
