

Jo-Ann Bobbitt TURNER, 86, of Merritt Island, Florida passed away on Sunday, February 27, 2022 at Rockledge Regional Health Center with her husband by her side. Born August 8, 1935 to the late Herman and Beulah (Blevins) Bobbitt in Winston-Salem, NC: she graduated from Grey High School in 1953, ventured out to Raleigh, NC where she met and married the love of her life, Wilbur Turner, in 1958.
Jo-Ann was a member of First Baptist of Merritt Island and past member of various Baptist churches in North Carolina, Alabama, and Florida where she served on various committees over the years.
In addition to her husband of 63 years, Jo-Ann is survived by two sons, Alan B. Turner of Cape Canaveral, FL and Donald W. Turner (Karen) of Port Orange, FL and one daughter, Janice Turner Foushee (Douglas) of Navarre, FL; six grandchildren: Christopher Foushee (Hadassah) of Milton, FL, Elaine Foushee, and Thomas Foushee of Navarre, FL, Rebekah Foushee of Atlanta, GA. Rachel and Matthew Turner of Port Orange, FL ; Three great-grandchildren : Aliana, Ellia, and Ariella Foushee of Milton, FL.
Along with her parents, Jo-Ann was preceded in death by three sisters: Kathleen Bobbitt Sauve, Dorothy Bobbitt, and Vermell Bobbitt Ingle.
A memorial service will be held from 11:00 a.m. – 12.00 p.m in the First Baptist of Merritt Island Chapel; followed by a reception in Chapel’s Magnolia room. Burial services will be conducted by Wylie-Baxley Funeral Home of Merritt Island, FL. A short graveside service will be conducted before burial at Oaklawn Memorial Gardens in Winston-Salem, NC, on Wednesday, March, 9th at 11:00 a.m.
