

Joan Lobb was born the fifth of seven children, Walter, Gertrude, Robert, Anita, Donald and Lawrence, on January 10, 1930 in Meriden, Connecticut to Emile and Gertrude (Niland) Cossette and passed peacefully on May 25, 2011 in the loving care of Farrington House in Merritt Island, Florida.
She attended St. Joseph's Catholic School and was a 1947 graduate of Meriden High School. She was married at St. Joseph's to Kenneth G. Lobb on December 30, 1950 and to this union four children were born - Jeanne Lobb Bleecker (John), Patricia Lobb Zust (Steven), Kenneth G. Lobb, Jr. (Tammy), and Russell T. Lobb (friend Lia.)
Shortly after their marriage, Ken and Joan embarked upon a life of worldwide travel with the United States Foreign Service and after stations in Cyprus, Panama (Jeanne was born), Taiwan (Patricia and Kenneth were born), Honduras (Russell was born), Okinawa, Germany, MiamiFL, Virginia, and the Philippines they retired in Merritt Island, Florida in 1978.
Over the years Joan enjoyed golf and quiet pursuits such as sewing and was an accomplished seamstress. She also enjoyed bridge and was a Master Bridge player. Joan loved nature, the arts, books, animals and was a loving wife and mother.
Joan is survived by her four children, her sister Anita Adduci of MeridenCT, five grandchildren Lori Zust, Stephen Zust, Sarah Zust Keesee (Courtney), Jacob Zust, Jenna Bleecker and many nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held on January 10, 2012 at Florida Memorial Gardens.
