Born in McCoole, Maryland, son of Albert Bernard Creasy and Agnes (Chucci) Creasy. John was a 1970 graduate of Bruce High School in Westernport, Maryland where he was voted best dancer and a valued member of the soccer team. He went on to earn a degree in electronics from RETS Electronic Schools in Baltimore. His career took him to Florida, where he worked for Bendix Field Engineering at MILA Tracking Station and later at the Kennedy Space Center Visitor Complex.
John was a man of exceptional ingenuity and resourcefulness. He took pride in caring for his home and property in Merritt Island, where he spent countless hours creating useful inventions, with an eye to always solving a problem. Among his most memorable projects were constructing his own in-ground pool and designing a large satellite dish—both testaments to his inventive spirit. He loved to dance and listen to his favorite music while working around the house. He was also known for his sharp wit and sense of humor, which left a lasting impression on everyone who knew him.
He is survived by his beloved wife of nearly 52 years, Louann (Kiddy) Creasy; his daughter, Carla (Creasy) Starling, and her husband, Ken Starling; and two cherished grandchildren, Johnathan and Chandler Starling. He also leaves behind his sisters Eula Hamilton, Jenny Fertig, Thelma McKenzie, and her husband Bill McKenzie, and Louise Creasy, along with numerous nieces and nephews.
John was preceded in death by his sister Anita Miller and brothers Albert “Butch” Creasy, James “Jimbo” Creasy, Frank Creasy, and William “Billy” Creasy.
As per his wishes, John will be cremated and no funeral service will be held. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made in his memory to the American Heart Association.
