Karen Marie Kirklin Price, age 56, died at her home resting in her favorite spot, Saturday, September 22, 2012.

Born September 20, 1956 in Lynwood, California, Karen moved to Florida at the age two years old and was content living in the beautiful Sunshine State. Karen graduated from Merritt Island High School in 1974. In 1976, she married her true love and husband of 36 years Steve Price. She later had two precious children, Tracy Jones (1977) and Derek Price (1979). In 1998 the first of her two Wonderful grandsons was born, Zaccary Jones, followed by the birth of her second in 2000, Austen Jones.

Karen loved her family!! She was big hearted, fun-loving, trusted others to the fullest, energized by shopping often followed by returns, willing to try anything once, eager to help anyone in her sight or in need, talkative as if she never met a stranger, and strived to put other's needs before her own.

She had a variety of interests. She took pleasure spending time with family and caring for her grandchildren, enjoyed arranging flowers, sought out bargains, gardened, frequented garage sales and flea markets, and was a frog fanatic; the first frog she kissed became her prince, Steve Price.

Karen is survived by her husband, two children, two grandsons; parents, Jan and Joe Kirklin; two sisters, Pam (Jim) Smith and Cindy (Dan) Hilburn; brother, Will (Dawn) Kirklin and several nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends Wednesday, September 26, 2012, from 5:00 pm - 7:00 pm at Wylie - Baxley Merritt Island Funeral Home, 1360 N. Courtenay Pkwy., Merritt Island, FL 32953. Her Celebration of Life services will be held at 1:00 pm, Thursday, September 27, 2012, at Rockledge Church of the Nazarene, 651 Barnes Blvd., Rockledge. Burial will be at Florida Memorial Gardens, 5950 S. US Hwy 1, Rockledge, FL 32955 immediately following Celebration of Life service.
