Louis ‘Louie’ Ferriero, 91, passed away peacefully at his home, Tuesday, July 24th, 2018 in Merritt Island, FL on his loving wife’s birthday.

One of 11 children, he was survived by two brothers, Saraphino and Frank , and predeceased by his loving wife of 70 years, Pat, as well as 2 brothers and 6 sisters. He married his sweetheart Patricia ‘Pat’ (Connolly) Ferriero on August 30,1948. They continued to live in Beverly where they had 10 children; Jimmy, Janie, Karen (Kary), Brucie, Stevie, Patti , Terri, Louie, Joey, and Johnny. They later moved to, NH and in 1980 moved to Florida.

He was a very respected and well known custom builder in Beverly. Many of his sons have followed in his footsteps. He was a great family provider giving his children a beautiful summer camp where he loved boating, playing horse shoes, and playing cards with lots of close friends and family. Mom always said he couldn’t boil water if he tried but in his later years nobody could make cookies, bread or Chumbot as good as he did!

Papa was adored by his 20 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. He will be truly missed by all that knew him.

A Memorial Mass will be held for Lou on Saturday, July 28, 2018 at Divine Mercy Catholic Church, 1940 N. Courtenay Pkwy., Merritt Island, FL. Condolences may be shared at www.wyliebaxleymerrittisland.com.

So many shared memories of Oakhurst Road and Hampstead, NH. I was so sorry to learn of Louie's passing. He was a sweet, dear man - I remember him referring to Joy as "Mary" (her preference) and chatting away with her while he and my Dad worked on one project or another. My condolences to all in his family - it's long ago and so far away since any of us have seen each other, but you will all be in our memories as childhood friends and close neighbors.

Uncle Louie built the house we grew up in on Albany Circle. You are correct, he was a respected custom home builder. I particularly loved the cedar closet he built in the cellar, it always smelled so good. I have many fond memories of Ferriero family get-togethers at any number of Auntie or Uncles houses. Ma (Dot) always loved and admired Louie. We were all fortunate to be a part of such a large and loving family, with sooo many good cooks and so many wise guys ! I have some very nice memories of camp, but wish I could have tasted Uncle Louie's chumbot. I gotta admit that I laughed when I read it (chumbot) in the paper. Deepest sympathies to all of my cousins Jimmy, Janie, Kary, Brucie, Stevie, Patti, Terri, Louie, Joey and Johnny. I miss you all and will keep you in our hearts.

Also deepest sympathies to Uncle Frankie and Uncle Feenie as the last remaining elder statesmen in the Ferriero clan.

With Love,
Chip(py), Valerie, Matt & Jamie McAskill
