Rev. Lowell S. Garland

Rev. Lowell S. Garland, 91, of Cocoa, FL, formerly of LaVale, died Monday, December 28, 2020 at Rockledge Regional Medical Center.
Born June 14, 1929 in Erwin, TN, he was the son of the late Earl and Cleo (Weeks) Garland.
He was also preceded in death by his first wife, M. Jane Garland, and two brothers, S.W. Garland and W.C. Garland.
From 1969-1999, Rev. Garland had served the Baltimore/Washington Conference of the United Methodist Church. He had pastored at LaVale United Methodist Church, Westernport United Methodist Church, Rawlings United Methodist Church, and Park Place United Methodist Church.
In addition, Rev. Garland served as Chaplain for the Maryland State Police and our local hospitals for 30 years.
He was a founding member of the Rawlings Lions Club.
Survivors include his wife, Ruth (Casdorph) Garland; children, Ed Garland and Linda Chell and husband Douglas; grandchildren, Ryan Chell, Blake Chell, Jayson Garland and wife Kelly, Megan Garland, and Alissa Gank and husband Jeffrey; great, grandchildren, Elliott, Cooper, and Wiley Gank.
Services are being scheduled at the Upchurch Funeral Home, P.A., Cumberland, with Pastor Vicki Cubbage, officiating.
Interment will be in Hillcrest Memorial Park.
