

Born Margaret Louise Calvert in Worthville (Carrolton), Kentucky, February 26, 1933 to Pressley Dane and Mary Elizabeth Calvert. She was the 2nd of 3 children with an older brother, Presley and a younger brother Thomas. When Margaret was 3 years old, her Father passed away She was then raised by her Aunt and Uncle on a tobacco farm.
In her late teens, she moved to Virginia to live with her brother Presley and his wife. This is where she met and married Cecil Bennett, giving birth to 7 children; the first 2 (twin sons) passing 5 days after life. Next came a daughter, Kathleen a son Raymond, then James; who preceded her in death. A 5th son, Thomas and the youngest William. She later worked as a custodian at Fairfax High School in Virginia. After the death of her husband Cecil, she met and married her 2nd husband, becoming Mrs. Hendon, they moved to Melbourne, Florida in 1976.
In 1989, she began and continued attending Grace Way Free Will Baptist Church, staying strong in her faith and belief in Christ Jesus as her Savior.
She continued custodial employment for 17 years at Eau Gallie High School, retiring in 1993 a few years after the death of her husband Cecil.
In 1996, she moved to Rockledge, Florida to live with her son William and his wife April. Margaret remained in Rockledge until she passed on April 24, 2023.
Margaret is predeceased in death by her 2 brothers, Presley and Thomas as well as her granddaughter; Deidra who died at birth and grandson, William passed at the age 34.
She is survived by her daughter, 3 sons and 9 grandchildren. 20 Great grandchildren and countless nieces and nephews.
Her hobbies included embroidery, knitting and gardening all that gave her great joy.
She had a loving and thoughtful manor and will always be loved and missed by all her family and friends, until reunited in the comfort in the House of Our Lord.
