

Margaret was born on August 6, 1938 in Alexandria, Virginia. She attended George Washington High School and then worked as the office manager for Service Distributing Company in Alexandria until she moved with her two sons to Merritt Island, Florida in 1973. After her move she was employed in the Aerospace Industry at Cape Canaveral. Margaret became a member of the First Baptist Church in Merritt Island.
Margaret was preceded in death by her parents Mark and Mildred Adams, Husband John Comber, Sr., Son John Comber, Jr., Brothers: Paul, Robert and Mark Adams, Sisters: Doris Barnes, Gladys Browning, Betty Hutchison and Mae Pataluna, as well as Husband Garland Shoemaker.
Margaret is survived by her Sister Ethel Gorham, son Robert Comber Sr., Grandson Robert Comber II, granddaughters Trina Comber and Cheyanne Beauchamp as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
The family is very thankful for the wonderful care that she received at Viera Hospital as well as the Hospice Care Unit at Cape Canaveral Hospital. Special thanks to Chaplain David Hoppell who visited Margaret daily while in hospice care, his prayers were so very comforting.
A visitation for Margaret will be held Friday, August 29, 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Wylie-Baxley Funeral Home, 1360 N Courtenay Pkwy, Merritt Island, FL 32953. The funeral service will follow at 2pm. Interment will be from 3:30 PM to 4:00 PM at Riverview Memorial Gardens, 3751 U.S. Rte 1, Cocoa, FL 32926.
Family requests any donations be made to The First Baptist Church at 245 Magnolia Avenue, Merritt Island, FL 32952 in Memory of Margaret Ann Shoemaker.
