Although born in Detroit, Michigan, Marylin lived on Merritt Island for the last 56 years. She was the face of Crest Cleaners in the 70s, where she met and made friends of many. She later drove a school bus for special needs children and made even more friends there. She fondly remembered her days as a Brevard County school bus driver and, even in the last few years, she would tell people “I was a school bus driver.”
Marylin and her husband, Leonard, were married for 58 years. She was proud of her life as a wife and supportive of her husband always.
As the mother of four children (Linda, David, Dennis and Tommy) and adopted granddaughter Susan, she spent much time watching swim meets, track events, and working in the concession stands at Little League events. She and her husband, Leonard, also helped raise niece and nephew when their mother suffered a long illness. Becoming a school bus driver was just another way of continuing to be around children.
Raised in the 50’s, Marylin NEVER left the house without full makeup and dress. She was the quintessential “people person” and loved to meet people and make friends. Her smile could light up a room and when Marylin was around there was never a lack of conversation and laughter.
We want you to remember the good times with Marylin. Although she has left us too soon, we will remember her smile, friendliness, interest in others and the joy she found in everyday life with her family. We hope you remember her the same way.
