April 6, 1945 - September 25, 2026
Peggy F. (Hardin) Hill, 81, passed peacefully into the arms of her Lord and Savior as her pastor sang, “The Old Rugged Cross” at her bedside. She was born on April 6, 1945 in Peru, Indiana, to the late Milburn W. Hardin and Mary Elizabeth (LaRue) Hardin. She called Melbourne, Florida home since 1984.
Peggy loved the Lord, her family, and her friends. She worked as a CNA for over 25 years and enjoyed taking care of the elderly (who would often request her). Over the years, she enjoyed finding treasures at local thrift stores and making friends wherever she went. She also enjoyed going to the beach, fishing, attending parades, and traveling on cruise ships. Peggy was always inviting others to come to her church. As a matter of fact, a CNA who cared for her just prior to her passing kissed her goodbye and promised Peggy that she would be visiting Living Waters Church Of God. She had a heart for the homeless and would give Bibles, tents, sleeping bags and food to those in need.
She is survived by her son, Timmy Hill, and daughters, Angela Hill, Lori Johnson, and Christy Johnson as well as her grandchildren: Emily McClendon, Julia Hill, Ashley Hill, Travis McClendon, and Nathan Ikerd. She is survived by her brother, Leon Hardin, and sister, Yolanda Haley. She is also survived by Peter Rule, her long-time friend and soulmate of over 35 years.
In addition to her parents, Peggy was preceded in death by her son, Joey D Hill; brothers, James Callis, Marvin Callis, Edward Hardin, Sr., and Ralph Hardin, Sr.; sisters, Katie Gourley, Sue Roberts, Imogene Hochstedler, and twin sister, Shirley Howard.
Her family welcomes you to attend her memorial service on Saturday, October 24, 2026 at 3 PM at Living Waters Church of
God, 428 Neiman Ave., Melbourne, FL, 32901
