Peter Sherman Wells, Sr., 94, passed away July 3, 2021 in Merritt Island, FL after a short illness. He was married for over fifty years to Anne Rast Wells who survives him. Peter was born to Harold and Ruth Wells (nee Anderson) in Stamford, CT on November 20, 1926. He served in the U.S. Navy in World War II. He was an avid sailor and spent his career working in the sailboat industry in different capacities. He and Anne were loyal members of St. Mark’s Episcopal Church in Cocoa, FL. They both sang in the choir for many years. In addition to his devoted wife, Anne, Peter is survived by one son, Peter S. Wells, Jr. and wife Dawn of Loveland, CO; one granddaughter, Sally Aldrin and one great-granddaughter, Bella Stumpf, of Ft. Collins, CO, and one sister-in-law, Sue Foy of Madison, GA. He also leaves several nieces and nephews. He was pre-deceased by two brothers, Robert and John.
A memorial service will be held at St. Mark’s Episcopal Church on Wednesday, July 21 at 12:00. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Marks Episcopal Church, 4 Church St, Cocoa, FL 32922.
