Ray E. Brown, Sr., 82, of Merritt Island, FL passed away Tuesday, April 14, 2015. A native of Greenville, SC, Ray moved to Florida in 1950 upon joining the United States Navy. He owned and operated Ray Brown Refrigeration and Air Conditioning. Ray was a member of the Merritt Island Masonic Lodge. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Christina; brother, Gene and sister, Babs.Ray is survived by his devoted wife of 24 years, Candace A. Brown; sons: John(Debbie), Ray Jr., and Michael(Caroline); daughters:Jennifer Sims (Dustin), Patti Older, and Cheryl Strickland; brothers: David(Flonise) and Larry(Becky); sisters:Connie Walker and Carolyn Yates; as well as numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends at Wylie-Baxley Funeral Home from 2-3PM Saturday, April 25, 2015 followed by a memorial service at 3PM. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to Central Brevard Humane Society.
