Ray Hoffman, a lifelong resident of Merritt Island, was called to his heavenly home Monday, December 16, 2019. He was a loving son, father, and “papa”. He passionately devoted his career to space flight as a quality control engineer throughout the Shuttle program. He was a proud alumnus of the MIHS marching band from the Class of 1970 and enjoyed Friday night football games in the stadium that held many fond memories. Those who knew “Raisin” will always remember his smile and witty spirit, bringing love and laughter into even the most difficult conversations. He is survived by his mother, Joyce Hoffman, his two children Robert Hoffman and Kaley Kiffner (Randal Kiffner), and his two grandchildren. A memorial service to honor his life will be held at Faith Lutheran Church on Merritt Island, Sunday, December 29, 2019, at 3 p.m. Memorial donations may be made to Merritt Island High School to support the band program.
