Reta Mae Broadwater, age 92, of Cape Canaveral, Florida, passed away at home on June 30, 2022, surrounded by family. She was born on May 12, 1930, in Grove, West Virginia. She is preceded in death by her husband, Willard "WC", her parents, Faye and Hunter Stansberry, her eldest son, Craig "CW", and siblings, Jesse Ash, Bill Stansberry and Annabelle Childers. Reta is survived by her brother, Cline Stansberry of West Union, WV, daughter, Karma Malone, of Cape Canaveral, FL, son, Kirk (Julie) Broadwater, of Honolulu, HI, daughter-in-law, Chong Broadwater of Pocatello, ID, along with grandchildren, Kara Haynes, Anton (Sachiko) Kerley, Chandra (David) Leonard, Taeja Mae Broadwater, Shane Broadwater and great grandchildren, Izzy and Zadie Mae Leonard.
There are many things that can be said about Reta, such as her selfless attitude, quick wit and her ability to talk to everyone by finding something that they had in common. Reta, fondly known as "Granny" had the best whistle you'd ever heard. She could whistle a tune like nobody else. More than anything else, Reta was always ready to share the Love of Jesus with everyone regardless of their stature in life.
Reta lived in several states throughout her lifetime; however, considered Paden City to be her home. She loved reminiscing about the "good ole days" with her son, Kirk. They could talk for hours about their time living there.
