Robert William Voelker, 84, of Sebastian, Florida, passed away on Wednesday, March 8, 2017.
Robert was born on December 14, 1932 in the Bronx area of New York City. He was the son of Ernestine and Lawrence Voelker, and spent most of his youth in Conneaut, Ohio. After receiving a football scholarship to Kent State University, he studied Engineering until an injury interrupted his education and he transferred to the University of Maryland. He married Kathleen Krueger in 1959 and accepted a job with IBM, Inc. where he worked until retirement.
Subsequent to a divorce with Ms. Krueger in the late 1970's, he remarried Ms. Betty Webb until she passed away in 1992. Since then, he has been living in a small home in Sebastian, Florida. During his retirement, he enjoyed playing golf and spending time with his family.
A memorial service will be held at the Wylie-Baxley Funeral Home in Merritt Island on Monday, April 3 at 12 noon. In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts can be made to Saint Jude's Children's Hospital.
