Tom was a welder and ironworker by trade. He worked on many of the bridges and high-rise buildings in the NY Metropolitan area before moving south in the late 1960’s where he eventually took up residence in Boca Raton, FL. He later started metal fabrications for the aerospace industry which led him to Titusville, FL. where he became the Head of Maintenance at US Space Camp.
He had so many favorite things but at the top of the list was Christmas, fishing and cooking. Keeping up with his Italian roots, all occasions centered around the kitchen and delicious food. When you were invited to his home, you knew you were going to eat well!
Tom was passionate about wolves and American Indian Culture. Nearly every wall or shelf in his home is adorned with art or figurines paying tribute to this passion.
Tommy D, as he was called by his friends or Pops in later years, could fix, repair or build anything. If a part didn’t exist, he would fabricate it from scratch. It’s hard to find anything around his home that hasn’t been modified to his liking.
Tom is preceded in death by his mother Jean Guiliano Dionisio, his father Nicholas Dionisio and his brother Rocco Anthony Dionisio. He is survived by his son Carmine Dionisio and daughter-in-law Joan Dionisio of Newnan, GA.; his son Thomas Budetti and daughter-in-law Miriam Pagan Budetti of Woodstock, GA.; 5 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.
His favorite expression was “Piece of Cake” and that’s the way he approached everything in life. He will be missed by his family, friends and so many people that he touched over the years.
The family would like to thank the wonderful and caring staff of The Royal Oaks Nursing Facility for the great care they gave him in his final days.
