Connie Garcia, beloved wife, mother, nana, and sister, passed away peacefully on September 27, 2026. Born in Phoenix, Arizona, to Gilbert and Luz (Peralta) Garcia, Connie lived a vibrant, dedicated life defined by deep family love and public service.
Connie retired as an Administrative Secretary with the State of Arizona, where she was honored with a Governor’s Award for her impactful committee work. Known for her warm smile, love for shopping, sweet treats, trips to the casino, music, dancing, and singing, Connie had an extraordinary gift for making lifelong friends wherever she went. No one could rival her gift in the kitchen, especially her famous, melt-in-your-mouth flour tortillas that she lovingly made for family and friends. Her greatest joy was her family and the deep, enduring partnership she shared with her husband, Joseph, whose steadfast care and devotion in her final years reflected a profound mutual love.
She is survived by her devoted husband, Joseph V. Wilson; her daughters, Catherine M. Bynum and Annette M. Garcia; her five grandchildren, Lauren Sundara, Ashley Crowell, Alex Zahn, Zach Zahn, and Paloma Zahn; and her brother Abel Garcia and sister Mary De La Torre. She was preceded in death by her previous husband, Michael M. Garcia; her brothers Elias and Alfred Garcia; and her sister Amanda Santa Cruz.
A visitation will be held on Saturday, October 10, 2026 from 9:30-10:30, at Mariposa Gardens Memorial Park & Funeral Care, The San Tan Venue, 400 S. Power Rd, Mesa, AZ, followed by a Memorial Service and Butterfly Release.
