Alvin, such a pleasure to have known him.  Although we worked together, we also became friends over the years. Always happy, always the first to offer help, always so proud of his family. He loved to share his stories with anyone and everyone, sometimes more than once! His whole face would light up when he spoke of his family and it was a joy to see the love. Rest In Peace  Alvin, know that you are missed.

Al was full of life, always laughing & always having fun. He had a big heart & I never heard him utter one cuss word. He had many admirable qualities, being very frugal in business, yet ever so gentle & loving with little children. Kit eventually had 2 boys & she & Al raised them both into fine young men. 

One day my dad, Paul, brought his tools over to help Al rebuild the engine in yet another Chevy. They got it done & running in good time with only half a coffee can of nuts, bolts & parts left. Dad said “it’s running good guess we didn’t need em.”

Al and I were like brothers, we worked together off & on from the 70s to 2014 when I just couldn’t do it anymore cause I’d lost a lung in Prescott the year before. What little I did work just slowed Al down, but I guess it didn’t bother him none cause he just kept on working. 
It might have been along about then that Al was staying in our motor coach in Humboldt, AZ while helping me do a remodel. It wasn’t new but it was in great shape with just a few little personality quirks. But he was in there for a week or two. Then came the day he was packing out, so with both arms full of suitcase & shirts on hangers he flung the door open & and let out an AAAAHHHHHHHH! from the top of his lungs and dropped 3 feet to the ground (mud) but still on his feet & clothes in his arms. Every now & then the steps would not get the signal from the door to drop down & let somebody out. This was one of those times.

Well I’ve probably said more than I should have, but with Al it could have been a book. I really am gonna miss you pal and I know you are now in a most beautiful place. So long for now & say hi to everybody.

My dear cousin Al, oh how I will miss you. I have always loved you and prayed for you. I always thought you were so handsome and I loved your laugh and that twinkle in your eye when you were teasing me-which you loved to do. Our cousin Kenny and you were my “guys” and always made me laugh. You two…my precious duo. I cherish the moments we had in 2020, never will I forget. I will miss your phone calls and the special love you had…just for me. I will never forget that you always put me on the horse that made a mad dash to the barn!! 
Kathy you have earned jewels in your crown. You loved him well. I love you dearly.

I married into the family.  Alvin's wife was my husband's cousin.  I too was in on a few family game nights.  My husband Ken and Al were full of fun and nonsense on those nights.  Al and Kenny went out one night and came back with the genius edition of Trivial Pursuit for us to play. I KNOW they thought it was the genius edition even though it was SPELLED. genus edition.  We laughed all night feeling like a genius when we got a question right.  When Kenny died, Alvin was so empathetic and kind, I really felt his pain in our family's loss.  I am thankful for these memories.  Philippians 1:3

Al always loved playing board games with family and I will always remember the twinkle he'd get in his eyes as he would slip a cheating card in. He always seemed so happy and full of love for family. He always wanted to help whether it was financial or a physical need someone had. The last time we saw him he kept going through photo albums and proudly showed us pictures of his grandkids and his little great granddaughter. He so loved all his offspring and especially you, Kathy. "My wife." He certainly will be missed. Another bright light. But what comfort to know we'll see him again.

Alvin is a big part of so many of my family memories. We always had fun together. He loved to laugh and be silly, and was always up for a game of cards. He and I loved to tease each other and give each other such a hard time. We had a couple of running jokes that lasted over forty years.
Al, you will be greatly missed. And no, Al, Cappi and I are not the ones who ruined your car’s paint job by putting shoe polish on it on your wedding day! There. I finally got the last word on that one.

I cherish my childhood memories of my brother.  I hold them close to my heart safely kept like a precious gem.  He was the oldest in our family and I was the youngest.  As a baby and toddler  he always had me in his arms shown in many of our family pictures.  I remember riding our horses together just the two of us down an empty street we lived on in Elk Grove.  As we rode I would sing to him the Bonanza theme song and tell him of my future when I was going to merry Little Joe.  I remember how Alvin would make Luke laugh and toss him up in the air.  Luke would laugh so hard he could hardly breath but he always wanted more.... Today those once empty streets are full of cars and Luke is a grown man who has passed on the laughter to his own children.

Rest In Peace Alvin! Always a happy guy. We shared a lot of laughs. I know your thrilled to be on the other side now. See you when we get there!
