Angel Ybarra Chaidez passed away on August 6, 2018, in Mesa, Arizona. Born in Jerome, Arizona to Jose Chaidez and Carmen Ybarra on December 17, 1937.

Angel was married to Viola Velez in Superior, Arizona on November 15, 1958 where he lived and raised his children. He worked for 27 years in the copper mines near Superior, AZ and then went on to work with Salt River Project (SRP) for 10 years until retiring. Angel loved watching sports, especially football. He was an avid Dallas Cowboys fan. He took interest in history and loved traveling around the State of Arizona. His other pastimes included going to casinos and playing the Arizona Lottery. He also enjoyed collecting rocks and minerals. He enjoyed sharing his rock collection with family and friends.

Angel was preceded in death by his parents, Jose Chaidez and Carmen Ybarra and his beloved wife, Viola Chaidez; He is survived by his sons, Chris Chaidez and Roy Chaidez Sr; daughters, Beverly Diaz-Gonzalez (Ralph), Rachel Halperin (Brett), and Valerie Escarcega; brothers Richard (Michele), Manuel and Jess (Irene) Chaidez; his sister, Alice Daniel, ten grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren.

Services honoring Angel will be held on Saturday August 11, 2018 at Saint Francis of Assisi Church, 490 West Main Street, Superior, Arizona 85173. Visitation will be at 9:00 am, Rosary Service at 9:30 am and Funeral mass at 10:00 am; Burial to follow at Fairview Cemetery in Superior, Arizona. Arrangements are entrusted to Mariposa Gardens Park and Funeral Care, 400 South Power Road, Mesa, Arizona 85206 (480) 830-4422.
