We gathered at Ocean 44 in Scottsdale this past February, just after Lunar New Year, colleagues and friends from United Integrated Services. The night was one of those rare occasions where work melted away, and what was left was laughter, stories, and a table heavy with food. Ocean 44 is known as a temple of indulgence—its raw bar a monument to oysters, crab legs, and lobster; its steaks aged and charred to perfection; its sides crafted with almost theatrical flair. That night we sampled it all. Shrimp deviled eggs with a sly kick. King crab with heirloom tomatoes, sweet and bright. Platters of branzino and lobster tails, rich and golden. Truffle-kissed fries, corn crème brûlée, and warm, buttery rolls that disappeared as quickly as they arrived. It was less a meal than a celebration, and the table glowed in the candlelight.

At the center of it all was Angelo. He was in rare form that night—beaming, full of energy, teasing and telling stories, his glass raised more often than it rested. He talked about his family, as he always did, because they were not just part of his life, they were his life. Around him, colleagues became companions, and dinner became memory. That is what he had a gift for—reminding us that what matters is not the contracts or the deadlines, but the people who sit across from us, who make the work worth doing.

Now, with his passing, this photo becomes more than an image. It is proof of joy shared, of a man who loved deeply, and who was loved in return. We look back on that feast and see more than food—we see Angelo’s smile, his laughter, his purpose. And though the night is gone, and he is gone, what remains is the reminder he left us with: that life, like dinner, is meant to be savored together.
