It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of April Lynn Thie. She passed on July 20, 2026, at the age of 53. April was born on January 14, 1973, in Sioux Falls, South Dakota and was a resident of Mesa, Arizona.
Upon graduation from Dobson High School in Mesa, April attended the Marc Center Copa Health Workshop program where she learned many skills and developed an amazing work ethic. She made life-long friends and met Tommy Crandall, her best bud of 18 years.
April loved jigsaw puzzles and tackled several 1,000 piece puzzles yearly - there was not a puzzle she could not do. She also enjoyed Lego sets and took pride in her favorite sets: Mickey Mouse, Statue of Liberty, and Baby Yoda. Balloons were a big favorite and sister Maggie filled her room full of them on her yearly birthday which brought April great joy.
April loved music, mainly Michael Jackson and New Kids on the Block. She recently attended a New Kids on the Block concert in Las Vegas and loved every minute of it.
April was very creative and took great pride in coloring and making cards for family and friends. Her cards were cherished and displayed proudly by all who received them.
April loved time spent with sisters: Jennifer Schmitt (Mark) of Sioux Falls South Dakota, Maggie Dobberpuhl (Michael) of Phoenix Arizona; brothers: Joseph Thie (Kari) and Josh Thie (Kristen) of Mesa Arizona. She recently enjoyed a family vacation in Rocky Point, Mexico and spent a fun week with nieces: Kayleigh and Taylor Thie, Calli Schmitt, Kiara Thie, Gia Dobberpuhl, and nephew Drew Thie.
April loved nephews Andrew Schmitt (Tasha), Lukas Schmitt (Ruby and children Summer, Luna, Lukas Jr.), Tanner Thie, Cody Thie, and Dylan Thie.
April was preceded in death by her beloved father Gary Joe Thie and her baby brother Jonathan. She was greeted with open arms by our Heavenly Father, her daddy Joe and grandpa Gene.
April was a blessing to all who knew her. Her positivity and smile lit up a room. She found joy in the little things, loved her family with all her heart, and they loved her in return. Don't tell her siblings - she was everyone's favorite. Her daddy Joe would say, "Although I will no longer be here on Earth, I will always be in your heart." And yes, dear sweet April, you will forever be in ours. Love you and God bless.
