Barbara was married to John McGovern for ten years. Her family says that even after ten years the two still acted like honeymooners. Together they enjoyed stained glass making. Barbara loved to travel. After she retired she traveled across the United States. Her daughters liked to refer to her as the “keeper of the maps” because she knew where everything was on a map. Barbara enjoyed making doll house furniture for her grandchildren. She was also an amazing caregiver; she helped her brothers through Hospice and many others.
Barbara is survived by her daughters, Lois Sheehan and Dolly Frey; granddaughters, Amber Cobb, Staci Sheehan, and Krystal Clark; great grandchildren, Alaister Jones, Freya Scroggs, Trenten Scroggs, Penelope Scroggs, and Jaidyn Zink. She is preceded in death by her beloved husband, John McGovern; mother, Jean Poitiers; and brothers, Kurt Meyer, Konrad Meyer, Robert Meyer, and Alfred Meyer.
