Bernabe Yescas Esquer, 89, of Tempe, Arizona, passed away on January 27, 2024. Bernabe, known to family and friends as Bernie, was born to Eduardo and Rita Esquer, on August 22, 1934 in Los Reales, Tucson, Arizona.
Bernie worked as a truck driver in California and Arizona but he enjoyed landscaping which led him to start his own landscaping business. He worked as a landscaper until he retired at 78 years old. He enjoyed reading his bible, watching western movies, camping, fishing, having BBQ's and being around his children and grandchildren. And, he made the best menudo!
Bernie was preceded in death by his wife Cruz Gloria Talamante Esquer and sisters Mary Lizarraga and Queta Reza, Benita Labastida (first cousin who was like a sister to the Esquer children), brothers Manuel Esquer, Eduardo Esquer, Benjamin Esquer and Ramon Esquer. He is survived by nine children, Dolores Herrera (Ignacio), Bernie Esquer, Jr. (Rene), Micheal Esquer (Leonor), Kathy Jimenez (Victor), Christopher
Esquer (Linda), Andrew Esquer (Yolanda), Greg Esquer (Dana), Robert Esquer, and Julia Kinney (Jon). He is also survived by 27 grandchildren, 35 great-grandchildren, 9 great-great grandchildren; sister Lupe Mendivil and brother Elias Esquer.
