

Betty Jean Fuchs of Mesa, Arizona, was born on November 30, 1943 in Kulm, North Dakota, with her twin brother Robert. Their parents were Albert and Emelia Fuchs. Betty attended country school in Dickey County 11 miles from Ellendale, North Dakota. Betty ask Jesus to be her Lord and Savior at eleven years old. She graduated from Ellendale High School in 1962 and moved to Missoula, Montana, where she worked at Rhodes Bakery from 1963-65. She then moved to Waukegan, Illinois, and worked for DBA which took contracts to make bowling supplies. In January 1970, Betty came home to help care for her Mother and worked from 1974-1977 in the kitchen at the Ellendale Nursing Home. Betty moved to Arizona on October 20, 1977, due to health reasons. She did daycare from 1978-79, and then started working at Motorola in 1979. Betty retired from Motorola after 20 years in 1999. She continued working from 2001-2006 for an assisted home living and in 2006 went into business for herself doing assisted home living. Betty retired from that job in July 2017. She attended United Methodist of Phoenix from 1977-1991, and then transferred to First United Methodist in Mesa and attended there from 1992 to present. Betty enjoyed doing art craft projects, loved to cook and clean and read mysteries. She taught both children and adult Sunday School and was the Superintendent of Sunday School in Phoenix. Our Lord called Betty home on March 18, 2021. Betty is survived by her twin sisters Joyce Fuchs, Arizona; and Jean Bettger, Utah; also her sister Mary Griffin, Texas. She has many nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, and cousins. Betty was preceded in death by her parents, brother Marvin; her twin brother, Robert; and sister Edith. Betty who cared so deeply for others, was dearly loved and will be greatly missed by her family and friends.
