

She was born on June 18, 1922 in Chicago, Illinois, where she was raised. She met Bernard Henry Lewin in high school, and they got married when she was 16. They moved to Rivergrove, Illinois, where they lived for 14 years, and then moved to Arizona in 1961. A homemaker, she enjoyed doing crafts such as needlework, macramé, knitting, crocheting, ceramics, and also enjoyed sewing and making her own clothes. She was a good card player, and she loved to travel, visiting different parts of the globe such as England, France, Australia, Russia, China, Mexico, Nova Scotia, and Alaska. She enjoyed swimming, and was on a synchronized swimming team, and loved animals. She was an active volunteer at Banner Hospital in the gift shop, and took various positions in singles groups, and ran fashion shows in Apache Wells.
Betty is survived by her daughters, Virginia Mc Eachern, Betty Erzig, Bernice Holenka; grandchildren Anna Marie, Pamela, Janet, David, Robert, Dawn, Christine, Michael, Jeffrey; 24 great grandchildren and 18 great great-grandchildren.
A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, May 14, at 11:00 am at Mariposa Gardens Memorial Park.
