Billie Jean Caudill went to our lord on Tuesday, June 21, 2016. Billie was born on September 13, 1928 in Viper, Kentucky the daughter of Myrtle and Finley Sexton. She walked several miles to reach the two room school on Stratton. She then attended Hindman Settlement School in Hindman, Kentucky from 7th grade through high school. She has many fond memories of the boarding school and the friends she had. Billie was preceded in death by her husband Wilbur Caudill, whom she was married to for 49 years. Billie and Wilbur had four children, David Caudill, Paul Caudill, Carol Karseboom and Robyn Caillouette. She was not only a mother to her children but helped raise grandchildren including Michelle Caudill-Rowland and Kimberly and Joel Karseboom. She leaves behind the following:
Grandchildren: Michelle Rowland, Travis Caudill, Kyle Caillouette, Kimberly Patton, Joel Karseboom, Trisha Intintoli and Pat Intintoli
Great Grandchildren: Lisa McFerran, Jordan Rowland, Taylor and Aidden Caudill, Tyler and Rhian Patton and Zander Jones
Great Great Grandchildren: Serenity, Brenn
Mom had a love for gardening and fishing with Dad and the kids and grandkids. She was taught how to sew at the age of six and continued to quilt up to her death. She had a smile that would light up the room and was compassionate beyond compare. She continued to stay in touch with her friends from school, friendships from Dad's work at Magma Copper and her deep friendships from back home. She traveled to Ohio and Kentucky to visit with family and friends had many of her closest friends were her fellow members of Beta Sigma Phi a international women's social and cultural organization. She had a love for animals big or small, she will be missed by her protectors Cooper and Katie and her ornery cat Cookie.
For each of us left behind with a heavy heart there will not be a day that goes by that we do not think of her. She was always thinking of others first and her compassion for her family and friends is something we will all cherish.
In lieu of flowers we ask that donations be made in her name to the Hindman Settlement School at HindmanSettlement.org
Arrangements under the direction of Mariposa Gardens Memorial Park and Funeral Care, Mesa, AZ.
