Bonnie Lou Taylor, born September 6, 1950 in Grayling, MI to Joseph and Helen [Jurek] Matelski, passed away June 1, 2013 in Mesa, AZ. Bonnie was an excellent wife, mother, grandmother, sister and daughter who was always loving and always loved. She had many passions in life, especially traveling; she loved San Diego and also vacationed in Jamaica, London and Hong Kong with her husband Tom. She also enjoyed word games, playing cards, reading, shopping, scenic drives, hiking, watching sports games and dining out, but what brought Bonnie the most joy was spending time with her cherished granddaughters. She earned her Bachelor’s degree in History and taught the second and the fourth grades for ten years. Following her teaching career, Bonnie was employed as an Operations Manager in the mortgage industry for 20 years until her retirement. As a member of All Saints Catholic Church, she was involved in the Perpetual Eucharistic Adoration. Bonnie is survived by her loving husband James “Tom” Taylor, whom she married at Saint Mary’s Cathedral in Gaylord, MI on June 26, 1976. She is also survived by her daughter Christine (Josh) Warren; granddaughters Graceson, age 5 and Joylynd, age 3; as well as her mother Helen Matelski and siblings Sharon (Louis) Valich of Arlington, TX, James (Lisa) Matel of Troy, MI, Cynthia (Philip) Lancaster of Hastings, MI and Rebecca (David) Arwine of Troy, MI. A visitation will be held from 6 – 8 pm, Thursday, June 13 at Mariposa Gardens Funeral Care, 400 S. Power Rd, Mesa, AZ. A funeral mass will be held at 10 am, Friday, June 14 at All Saints Catholic Church, 1534 N. Recker Rd, Mesa, AZ. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Hospice of the Valley, 1510 E.
